A Scared Season of Shedding & Becoming

Over the past several months, I’ve felt as if life has been quietly stripping things away...sometimes gently, sometimes abruptly, and sometimes in ways I didn’t fully understand until now. It started almost innocently: a whisper in my intuition urging me to clear space. That whisper turned into action. I have deleted thousands of emails that had been accumulating for years. I have unsubscribed from messages that cluttered my energy. I released old documents that no longer felt relevant. It’s also moved into my physical world with closets, drawers, shelves, all being purged of things that no longer matched the version of me I am becoming.

Along the way, life nudged me to release more than just physical or digital clutter. A role that no longer aligned with where my soul was heading and a friendship shifted in a way that surprised me. Long-held thought patterns resurfaced, almost asking to be acknowledged so I could finally lay them down. It felt like shedding, layer after layer, sometimes easy, sometimes emotional but always purposeful.

As we stand at the end of the Wood Snake Chinese year and on the threshold of so many simultaneous energetic shifts, I can finally see what was happening: I was living the final teachings of the Wood Snake.

The Wood Snake 🐍, whose influence ends on February 16th, has been a year of deep and intentional shedding. It’s an energy that asks us to slither out of old skins oh so quietly, thoughtfully, without drama so we can reveal the truth beneath. It strips away excess. It brings us face-to-face with what no longer fits. Everything I released, from emails to roles to relationships, was part of that slow, meaningful unraveling.

And now, everything changes.

On February 17th, we enter the year of the Fire Horse. This is not a gentle shift...it’s a bold one🔥 The Fire Horse arrives with speed, instinct, self-trust and an unmistakable call toward forward movement. Where the Wood Snake was quiet and reflective, the Fire Horse is alive, passionate and ready to run. It invites us to act on what we’ve been sensing, to move in the direction of what feels true and to stop apologizing for our clarity.

This fiery transition is intensified by the cosmic shift happening at the same time: the Sun moves from Pisces into Aries. This moment ushers in a new 30-year cycle. It is a cosmic turning point that only arrives a few times in a lifetime. Pisces represented the dream, the feeling, the dissolving, the spiritual preparation. Aries represents the spark, the instinct, the decision to begin. Moving from Pisces into Aries isn’t just a seasonal change; it's a initiation into a new direction, a new identity and a new way of moving through the world. It’s the moment where the inner shifts become outer action. It’s where the soul says, “It’s time.” ✨

Layered with all of this is the New Moon Eclipse in Aquarius, a powerful energetic moment of truth, revelation and realignment. The eclipse is not what initiates the 30-year cycle but it amplifies the clarity of this moment. Aquarius invites us into authenticity, innovation and a deeper understanding of our place in the collective. The eclipse brings things to the surface that we might have been ignoring or postponing. It asks us to see ourselves honestly, to trust our inner wisdom and to move toward what feels most aligned.

When I look at these overlapping energies...the final shedding of the Wood Snake, the arrival of the Fire Horse, the cosmic ignition of Aries beginning a new 30-year cycle and the Aquarian eclipse shining light on our truth...it all becomes clear. Everything I have been releasing wasn’t random. It was preparation. It was clearing space for this next season. It was making room for the fire.

I know I’m not the only one who has felt this. So many people have been shedding, clearing, grieving, simplifying, or feeling like identities and roles are dissolving. Many have felt lost or disoriented, unsure of why things were falling away. But in reality, we were being guided—gently and sometimes forcefully—into alignment for what is arriving now.

This moment we are stepping into is not a breakdown. It’s a breakthrough.

The space we created is now ready to be filled with purpose and possibility. The emotions we processed have softened our hearts enough to receive what’s next. The roles, relationships and patterns we released have opened space for something more aligned. The Fire Horse brings momentum. Aries brings initiation. The eclipse brings clarity. And the 30-year cycle is the path unfolding beneath our feet.

This is a season of emergence, of choosing yourself, of trusting your instincts and of stepping into what your soul has been preparing you for.
