The Wish I Forgot That Reminded Me to Deepen My Intuition

A handwritten note on white paper reads "Continue to deepen my intuitive skills," placed on a wooden table.

This year, I celebrated the Winter Solstice with a wishes ritual. Have you ever done one before? You write thirteen wishes for the new year, placing them in a bowl, and burning one each night for twelve nights. The final wish (the one left unburned) is said to be the wish you must nurture yourself, the one you’re responsible for bringing to life. The Universe handles the first twelve wishes.

So imagine my face when, after twelve nights of letting wishes float into the Universe, I unfolded the last slip of paper and found a wish I didn’t even remember writing: “Continue to deepen my intuitive skills.”

I actually smiled and then giggled out loud, “Okay Universe, I hear you”.

Why? Because I had filled the other twelve wishes with the exciting things: travel, money, renovations, business goals, my body. Yet the wish at the bottom of the bowl, the one meant for ME…was the one I had unintentionally forgotten.

The one that cut straight to the truth: I had forgotten myself.

Somewhere in the swirl of helping, fixing, leading, giving, and doing, I slipped into autopilot. As a Gallup Restorative (a fixer), this isn’t hard, I naturally jump in to solve and support. I thrive in details. I over-give because I care. I can juggle a lot, and I’m good at it.

But being good at something doesn’t always mean it’s aligned with your energy or your joy.

And this wish (the only one left in the bowl) was a loving reminder that I had drifted away from my own intuitive center… the very thing I help others with. Sort of funny huh? We teach what we most need to remember. We guide others to do what we forgot to offer ourselves. We get busy being capable and forget to be intentional….in all aspects of life! This final wish in the bowl was a mirror. A reminder. I little cosmic nudge 💫

Deepening my intuitive skills isn't just about spiritual growth. It’s returning to alignment. It’s about reconnecting to me in my grounded, guided, joyful and connected self. When I am aligned, then my work flows, my energy is clean, my boundaries are clear, I attract opportunities that are a "Hell Yes"!, I stop forcing and start allowing and choose what’s right, not what I ‘should' do. That is where the MAGIC is ✨

My story may be yours too. Here are some signs you may have slipped into autopilot without realizing it:

  1. You’re doing thing because you can, not because they light you up

  2. You feel drained after tasks you used to enjoy

  3. You say “YES” faster than your body can check in

  4. You help others before you even consider your own needs

  5. You keep pushing through, even when you feel the nudge to pause

  6. Your creativity or intuition feels quieter than normal

  7. You feel disconnected from joy, inspiration or your own inner rhythm

Now these are SIGNALS, gentle alerts from your soul as an invitation to look closer. Please do not think of them as failures!!

Here are a few practices that I am leaning into even more that may support you:

  1. Pause before saying YES, give yourself 24 hours and let your body feel into it. (It’s in my Human Design as a Generator, I thrive when I wait to respond!)

  2. Notice your energy levels, what tasks drain you, even when you are good at them? What fills your cup with east, flow and joy?

  3. Create Stillness during your day, give yourself 5 minutes of quiet between tasks to check in, give yourself more time in the morning and evening. Just pausing to put your hand on your heart and breathing creates that stillness.

  4. Pay attention to those nudges, you get a gut feeling or sign, write it down. The more awareness the easier they will be to notice.

  5. Feel into your body, what feels tight? What feels open? What does a "Hell YES" feel like for you?

  6. Give yourself permission, you are allowed to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, that is evolving not failure!

I believe the wish I had forgotten, wasn’t forgotten...it was waiting for me! 🙏

My invitation for you as you step into 2026 to reflect on:

What wish is your soul whispering quietly for you?

Where have you forgotten yourself?

Where is your intuition trying to guide you?

May this year be the year you remember what your soul has been asking for and you realign, reconnect and return to yourself so that your light grows brighter from the inside out!

And if you feel called to deepen your intuitive connection, clear energetic blocks or patterns or gain more clarity in life or business, I would love to support you through Intuitive Coaching.
