When Love Leads: The Subtle Shift from Doing to Being

During one of my recent intuitive coaching certification sessions, something beautiful and profound unfolded.
I was working with a client and, as part of our session, I invited her to journal on the phrase “impacting love daily.” The idea felt powerful and a reminder that we can bring love into action, that we can consciously choose to make a difference through how we show up in the world.
But when my client reflected back, she said something that had me pause.
She smiled gently and shared, “What I heard was ‘allowing Love to have an impact daily.’”
There it was, the same words rearranged, yet the energy was completely different.
One was about doing, the other about being.
And in that instant, I felt how Love itself had entered the conversation, guiding us both toward a deeper truth.
When we focus on impacting love daily, we’re often in motion- acting, giving, serving, showing love in tangible ways.
It’s beautiful work. It’s what we do when we hold space for others, lend a listening ear, offer a kind word, or send a prayer into the world.
It’s Love expressed through our hands and hearts. We are shaping, influencing, and leaving imprints of love wherever we go.
But even in that goodness, there’s often a subtle sense of effort- the energy of needing to do something to keep love flowing.
Then there’s the other side- the way my client phrased it.
Allowing Love to have an impact daily.
Here, we soften.
We release control.
We become the vessel rather than the source.
This kind of Love doesn’t ask for effort; it asks for openness.
It asks us to trust that Love already knows how to move through us if we let it.
When we allow Love to impact us, we become more attuned to its quiet guidance.
We pause before speaking, we breathe before reacting, we listen with our hearts.
We start to feel how Love shapes our days, our choices, and our connections- not through force, but through flow.
That session reminded me that Love is always trying to reach us.
Sometimes it comes through our actions.
Sometimes it comes through our surrender.
Both are sacred.
But one invites us to lead with our will, while the other invites us to trust with our faith.
For me, this was a gentle nudge to remember my word for 2025 — faith — and to let Love take the lead.
So the next time you feel called to make a difference, pause and ask yourself: “Am I impacting love, or am I allowing Love to impact me?”
Both can transform lives — but the second one transforms the soul first.
Maybe that’s the quiet invitation for us all: “Love, how do You wish to move through me today?”
When we surrender to that question, Love does what it always does- it expands, heals, and reminds us who we truly are.
Today, I release the need to control how Love moves. I open my heart and allow Love to impact me and through me, to touch the world. ❤️
If you’d like to expand on this a bit deeper consider journaling on these questions:
Breathe deeply and let your pen/pencil move with Love’s guidance:
When I think of “impacting love daily,” what actions or intentions come to mind?
What would it feel like to “allow Love to impact me” instead?
How do I recognize when I’m doing love versus being in Love?
What might change in my relationships, work, or energy if I allowed Love to lead?
How can I invite Love to move through me today?
